Administrative Hearings

For over 30 years, our attorneys have appeared regularly at the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH), formerly known as the Environmental Control Board (ECB). We represent property owners and managers, as well as businesses in a variety of NYC property-related matters. Our services include defending summonses issued by the Dept of Buildings, FDNY, Dept of Health & Mental Hygiene, Sanitation Dept, Dept of Transportation, Dept of Environmental Protection, Dept of Consumer and Worker Protection, and many others.

Our attorneys also represent clients on various licensing matters and handle Petitions brought before OATH’s Trial Division, such as padlock matters and disciplinary proceedings.

Compliance and Certification

CHA provides compliance services to property owners and property managers, including the submission of Certificates of Correction to NYC agencies to resolve outstanding, open violations. We prepare and submit certification packages for DOB violations and FDNY violations. We also assist clients with the resolution of HPD violations, DOB Stop Work Orders, Vacate Orders, Internal DOB violations, and many other types of NYC agency issues.

Criminal Court

Our firm also has a long history of handling criminal summonses issued by NYC agencies (DOB, DOT, NYPD and FDNY) that are returnable in Criminal Court. These matters are issued as misdemeanor offenses and require an attorney to appear on behalf of corporations.
